Yes, I opened the TXT file in word, Saved it as a DOC file, relinked the new DOC file as the Data Source - it opens without a problem.

Keep in mind that when the message pops up with the TXT file, all we have to do is click on OK and things work fine from there.  It is just the irritant of the box popping up and having to click on OK.   It could be an update - our server handles all updates and pushes them to the clients so everyone would have had the update applied at the same time.  I will check into this.

Thanks

Let us know if you find a way to turn it off, please!

A couple of years ago a problem occurred with the automatic Wordmerge at one of my clients. On some PCs it would only print the first page of a two page merge. After spending many many hours on this, and determining that the problem was only seen on the machines that had Word 2002 (the others had Word 2003), we decided to purchase upgrades to Word 2003 on those PCs. The requisite number of upgrades were purchased and it was arranged that I would go in and install them. I went to the client's site and that day the problem went away. I didn't install the upgrade. Days passed, no problem. The upgrades were sent back for credit. To this day the Wordmerge is working perfectly, on all the PCs.

That's Microsoft Word for you.
