Can't get past the first one, it says 0 of 1.
I will try shutting down the other two computers, and restarting the server

Even with the other two off, I still get 0 of 1

Hello,

Shut down Sesame Server
Right click on the Sesame Server icon
Switch to the shortcut tab
Write down the directory that appears in "Start In:"
Take the s_conf.cnf file that was sent to you. It may be in an e-mail or on a floppy.
Put that file in the directory that you wrote down earlier. The "Start In:" directory.
Start up Sesame Server.
It should now say 0 of 3.

You guys have got to figure I'm an idiot by now.
But
My server is now reading 0 of 1?
Instead of 0 of 3,
and two of the client machines are looking for files in the Documents and settings folder.
They were all working fine last night, but, as I was moving files around, I'm wondering if I've lost my multi user licence, or overwritten it with the default single licence.

What icon or batch file did you use to start Sesame Server?

If it was an icon, what is the start in directory for that icon?
If it was a batch file could you post the contents of the batch file here?

If your S_conf.cnf file is in the C:\Sesame folder than your batch file will need to be

C:
cd Sesame
Data\sesame.exe -server front_computer

When my replacement asks the same stupid question, you can scare the hell out of him, by telling him it's saved on his multi user installation disk.
I just put the batch file there for safe keeping.
Thanks again.

Same problem....slightly different.

Network file was installed by user, not by me.  First time using network pack.  I am working with a remote connecction.  Owner is out of the country for 2 weeks, not available to provide any answers.

Environment:
Server is started on standalone with desktop icon:
C:\Sesame\Program\sesame.exe -server ULTRA:20000:20001
Start In folder is C:\Sesame
C:\Sesame\ folder has a file named s_conf (no extension).

Problem:
When starting server, it only shows 0 of 1, expected to see 0 of 3.  (Not sure what network pack was installed.)
Starting Client shows 1 of 1, cannot open second user copy.

I tried changing s_conf to s_conf.cnf,  but same result.
Also tried renaming to S_conf.cnf in case it was Case Sensitive.  Same thing.

What obvious thing am I missing?
Why do I see s_conf vs s_conf.cnf?
Did they install incorrectly? (Explorer is set to display extensions).

Hello Bob,

Send me an e-mail with the s_conf file attached. I have the ability to see how many users it allows. It may be that it is the wrong file.

Not sure why but Windows XP at least hides the .cnf extension even if you tell it not to hide file extensions. If you open a command line and browse to that directory and do a dir you should see the .cnf extension. Be sure that you do not have two .cnf extensions, the rename may have renamed it to s_conf.cnf.cnf

On the client if you go to Open Application, what does it say in Root Directories? Does it display the standard choices.

Have been sent....thanks.

I copied file (.cnf.cnf) from remote system to my XP
You were right, the one I saw with the extension, was really .cnf.cnf extensions.  I copied from .cnf.cnf to .cnf
I am attaching both files.

Looking from WIN98ME to XP the .cnf file does not show the extension, so this view not limited to XP?

Hmmm, when attaching to email, could not do.  Got message that files may not be real links? So I put them both into a Zip file.  Curioser and curiouser.

Hello Bob,

Both of the s_conf.cnf files that you sent me are one user client packs, or a +0 client pack.

Do have access to the original s_conf.cnf file that was sent to the customer from sales? It may be on a CD, a Floppy, or sent by e-mail. If so send that file straight to me.

If on floppy/CD, will not have access at this time.  If in email I may be able to locate it.  Will check later......

What are Quote:
one user client packs, or a +0 client pack.
?

Is a one user client pack supposed to allow ONE additional user ABOVE the number already authorized?

What is a +0 client pack supposed to allow?

A One User Pack and a +0 Client pack are the same thing. It allows one Sesame client and only one Sesame client to connect to the Server at a time. A +1 client pack allows Two Sesame Clients to connect to the Server at the same time. If you are expecting to see 0 of 3 in the Server admin window then your client should have a +2 client pack on his/her disk.
