Right now I have around 20 or so active colors on the form. However when I go to add a new color or create a custom color it tells me that I can only have a maximum of "159" colors on the layout. I'm not sure why it's saying this but I think it may be because I've deleted fields that had colors before, but that those fields are still stored in "Manage a Database" or something. Maybe I should backup the .dsr then run a batch from there to delete some of the fields no longer being used and see if that fixes the problem but I'm not sure if that will fix it or not.
