Mail Merge seems to work from the Db file. When i get to the word document to print it the mail merge fields are all there but when you hit the "view merged data" button all retrieved data fields disappear.
Help

Sesame doesn't have a "mail merge" function, so we need some detail about what you are doing. I assume that you either exported data from Sesame or ran a Mass Update that wrote data out to a file. Either way, open the created text file in a text editor (like Notepad) and see if there is anything in it.

I am doing a: Merge Print Database Records On-the-Fly.
The text file I have only lists the array of fields I have chosen but not any of the records i have chosen to merge.

Peter,

If you're describing what I think you are, you are using a very detailed and heavily coded application produced by Tom Marcellus of Inside Sesame. If you need support on this application, you should contact Tom. This is a highly customized application and I simply don't know its ins and outs well enough to support it effectively.

You can contact Tom at mailbox@insidesesame.com

Hello Peter,

Does any data show up in the text file in you choose "This Record only"?

If no data shows up in the text file then double check that that names in the F[] array are the element names of your elements.

Ray You Are The Man!!!!!!!!

Being a a beginner with Sesame my error was that my layout elements on the screen look like this

Last Name:
First Name:

But their actual name, as you suggested i check, is

Last Name
First Name

without the  colon  :

So as soon as I changed all the F arrayed elements without the colons everything appeared in my document.

Thanks,
Peter
