Did you know?
[list]
[*]That if you hit CTRL-Enter on a text LE a small menu will popup near your
mouse with up to ten of the last things you typed into that field.

[*]That if you start Sesame with the "-scheme plastic" flag, Sesame will take
on a look and feel similar to the now famous "aqua" scheme.

[*]That @SelectTreeItem works on menu items even on command trees that are not
currently visible to the user.

[*]That you can change the record number by editing the digits in the record
counter and hitting the Enter key.

[*]That you can specify an application file on the command line in the "Target"
property of the Sesame icon, so that icon always opens the same application
file.

[*]That you can move focus out of a form with the CTRL-Up arrow key.

[*]That you can move focus into a form from the command tree using the Tab key.

[*]That you can move focus into the spec handler from the command tree using
the Down arrow key from the last expanded tree item.

[*]That you can move between the Sesame interface tabs (from form to form) using
the ALT key and the tab number (ALT-1 takes you to the application menu tab).

[*]That you can navigate on either the command trees or the file trees
by typing in the first few characters of the item you want.

[*]That hitting the spacebar is the same as clicking on a focused button.

[*]That the Sesame "runtime" (i.e.: sesame.exe) can open .dsr files if they
specified on the command line. Example "C:\> sesame Customers.dsr".

[*]That you can open a Sesame application file through your network in
standalone mode by including the shared drive, or UNC path in your rootdirs
file, or by specifying the network path on the command line.
Example: "C:\> sesame \\MachineName\Directory\Customers.db"

[*]That you can translate Q&A .dtf files from the command line using the -qa
flag. Example: "C:\> sesame -qa MyQA.DTF" - this will create a file called
MyQA.db and a file called MyQA.dat. Use care, if such files already exist they
will be overwritten. This is great if you have a lot of .dtf files to convert
and want to do them in a batch.

[*]That Sesame reports can be emailed directly from the browser in report preview
mode, by right clicking on the page and selecting "Send Page...". in Netscape
or pressing the "Mail" button in Explorer and selecting "Send Page..." from
the pulldown.

[*]That most Sesame Layout Elements (LEs) repond to the right mouse click and
present a popup menu featuring Undo, Paste, Select All, Copy, Cut, Clear, and
Help.

[*]That selecting some text in a text LE, and then dragging the mouse to
a different text LE will copy the selection from one LE to the other.

[*]That hitting the "middle" mouse button (on Windows the scroll wheel click)
will paste the currently highlighted text at the mouse position.

[*]That you can load and run a macro file while a macro is being recorded,
allowing you to nest or chain macros.

[*]That mouse-click macros on forms use LE names as opposed to positions, so you
can record a macro and actually move the LEs used in the macro in SDesigner, and
when you come back to runtime the macro will still work.

[*]That you can run the Sesame server with no user interface by specifying the
-daemon flag on the command line when you start the server.

[*]That you can make data type conversion warnings go away using the -warn_none
flag on the command line when starting Sesame.

[*]That you can make data type conversion warnings appear more rigorously using
the -warn_high flag on the command line when starting Sesame.

[*]That the "Print Form to HTML" command actually creates a true HTML web page form
that can be used on a web server - just add a submit button and appropriate
server scripting (for your purposes) and your're good to go.

[*]That you can set Sesame to be the default application for files with the
.db extension. If you right click on the file in Explorer and select
"Open With..", and when the dialog appears, select "Other" and navigate to
the Sesame executable on your hard drive. Sesame will be set as the default
application for .db files. If you then double click on a .db file in Explorer,
it will start Sesame and automatically load that application file.

Just stumbled across a new one (new to me, anyways):

Control-F9 or Control-F10 will reverse/advance PARENT records while focus is in Child (sub) records.

Great feature!

Thanks,
Steve
