Linking Verses Programing

I have 2 Subforms Labor & Material on a Subform which has the Job ID, Address etc these 3 subforms are on a Tab Page of Estimate and are naturally linked.

As each job address may have more than 1 estimate associated with it I need to advance records for the labor and material subforms but I need to keep these 2 subforms together as one so to speak, so when labor subform record advances to a new record material subform goes with it.

Would the use of relational linking work for this? or would it be better to combine Labor & material to 1 subform and separate them by programing to their subtotal elements?
