Well ProBase, I'm afraid we're not going to be able to help you with your problem yet.
Apparently, the Mandrake 9.2 installation has a little issue with the very common brand of CD-ROM drive (LG) installed in many Dell and Gateway computers. It's little issue is that it sends a command to the CD-ROM that instructs it to completely erase its firmware. There is a program available that is meant to flash the CD-ROM, but, unfortunately, once the CD-ROM has been destroyed in this manner, the computer can no longer find it to restore the firmware.
After rendering two CD-ROM drives permanently inoperable, before research revealed what was going on, we decided that installing this version of Mandrake was not a very good idea.
We have no idea what this particular version of Mandrake's problem is with SDesigner. At this point, we're afraid to continue trying to find out. We're running out of spare CD-ROM drives...

We're very sorry that we can't set up a test box with this platform for you at this time. We're going to try to find a way around the CD-ROM problem, but it may take a while. For obvious reasons, we have to be very careful! Please let us know if you find out any more information about the SDesigner problem.
