Hello,
Just installed and got a "some or all of the programing has failed...."
all the (#include "sbasic_include.sbas") stuff like

VRSHandle = @XResultSetSearch(@FN, "Settings", SEARCH_MODE_AND, SEARCH_SYNTAX_QA, "!city_tax=" + city)

did i miss something on the install?

Just running the update would not have this effect.

You will want to make sure that the Start In: of the Sesame shortcut is set to the directory where the sbasic_include.sbas resides. By default this is the c:\Sesame2 directory.
