Client connection question

I am running a server/client and one more client version 2.5.3. Recently for an unknown reason I stopped being able to connect the client computer. I can connect using ip address in the target line but not the name of the server computer. I can ping the server using the name or the ip, and I can still browse any folders I have mapped, but sesame client just won't connect using the name. Any ideas? I guess it's not an issue but I would like to know why it suddenly won't work anymore like it always has.

Are you receiving any error messages when you attempt to connect -- on either computer?

Can a client on any other computer, including the server itself, connect to the server by name?

Does the server panel increment the connection count during the attempt to connect?

Did you make any changes to name services settings or firewall settings on your network
lately?

Have you recently performed an OS update on either computer (which can change your firewall settings without notice or consent)?
