advice regarding a microsoft access to Sesame

I am looking for some advice and thoughts from you fine people regarding dealing with a microsoft access database.

I have received  2 microsoft access files Oe_mdb and Oe_Be.mdb

I was told all the data is in the file ending in BE(for back end)and that I will have to relink the tables to the BE if I want to use the system as is.

My question is first if I want to convert this to a sesame app do I need to create an app first and then relink the mdb and then export the data and then import into sesame?
or
is there a method to get some of the existing app created into a sesame app and then modify it?

If I need to start from scratch I will need to understand the old access database. Is re-linking something fairly simple or am I best off paying someone that knows what they are doing? What is a fair price to pay to have someone relink this data?

Thanks

If you open the mdbs, you are going to find that Oe has all the forms and reports and suchlike. Oe_BE has nothing but tables populated with data. This is a common way to partition Access systems.

Oe has already been linked to Oe_BE, but since you moved the files, OE needs to be told where Oe_BE is. This is really easy.

On the External Data tab, choose Linked Table Manager. You can probably figure it out from there.

Wow, even great customer service on non Sesame products.

Your directions got me linked and into the Access database so I am able to see what it does.

Now to learn enough about the database to create what is needed in Sesame.

Thank you so much for the help.

You really are the greatest.

Glad to help, Robert. I know my way around Access pretty well, so let me know if you need anything else.  If there's VBA in there that you don't understand, post it here and I can tell you what it does.
