Lookups in a server

We just put Sesame on a server with three users.
At this point it is just a file sharing location, as
I am going slow and careful.

With all the lookups being directed to the "C" drive and the server being the "Z" drive, will the lookups pull information from the dbs on the server, or will it go to the files on the standalone?

Is there a way to re-direct (translate "C:" to "Z:")
or should I just take the plunge and do a proper server installation?

I would suggest taking the plunge and setting Sesame up Client/Server. It would save you the hassle of finding everyplace you used C:\ and replacing it with Z:\ in the programming and then having to change it back when you do go Client/Server.

Hi Ray,

We have this set-up for our physical network at our location.  We also have 3 other locations that get the shared files by copying to their local computers.  There is some lag in the information, because it would depend on them to do click on the batch file.

We are planning on setting up a VPN in the near future.
