Would someone be able to give me some tips on ways to secure a forum similar to this one, a church forum I'm a member of was hacked yesterday and taken over by the hacker, the lady that runs it was all torn up, any help would be really appreciated !!!!!  Undecided

Which forum software are they using? How did the hacker get in? Did they just guess her password, or did they actually hack something?

The software is http://www.simplemachines.org/
It looks like they guessed the password of the Administrator.

Then, the answer would simply be to choose a stronger password and protect it.
