Rebooted the server machine, no problems since.  Wink Don't know why it has to be rebooted occasionally.

I've noticed that sometimes Windows Updates can cause the Network to drop in and out after the update has finished until the computer is re-booted. Not sure why, just something that I've noticed.

Is it possible for the database to be locked and be open in a client?? I was trying to update a record and got a message that the file rights would not allow it to add the updated information, I closed all clients and server, reloaded the server and a client and tried to reopen the database and it said the database was locked???????? Seems like Halloween around here this week, lol   Huh

Do you have a backup program running on a timer that is claiming your files?

Antivirus program? It sounds like something is coming along and making your db and/or dat read-only.

Well it done it again after putting in data all day it started popping up saying the file had become locked and changes could not be changed but it was saving the changes, after exiting Sesame I got the application lock message, and then it failed to unlock it, I have sent the file into support hope you can help, a large amount of work was entered today.   Angry  Cry

The changes can not be saved message will appear if the DB or DAT files are no longer able to written to by the Sesame Server. This can be caused by several different things such as if the user that is running Sesame Server is no longer allowed to write to that directory or files, another program sets the DB or DAT files to be read-only, if they no longer exist, or the file path to the files is no longer valid.

You should have an e-mail with instructions on how to create a copy of your database with everything recent in it as long as the Sesame Server is still running.

The same thing (funky dropped clients) will happen occasionally at my location.  But if I'm consistent to reboot my server (WinXP workstation) about every 2 weeks, it almost never ever happens.  With almost all things Windows, 'reboot' is usually good for what ails you.
