Database fails to open
Nov 26th, 2007 at 5:59pm
Print Post Print Post
My coworker reported problems trying to open our database...I hoped it was simply "locked"...no such luck.  I'm getting the following messages in the admin log:

Failure while opening application w:\ masterdatabase.db
Failure to read a record at 833
Failure while loading application w:\masterdatabase.db

Initially there was a message saying that the files had been marked "read only"...I checked the individual files and, indeed they were.

Any help appreciated. Embarrassed

Hello Charlie,

You'll need to send your masterdatabase.db, masterdatabase.dat, masterdatabase.dsr, masterdatabase.ddt, and Sesame Log File in to Support@Lantica.com

Are you version 1 or version 2?

Thanks Ray.
Running Version 1.1.4
My best guess is that "we" are still having an issue with accessing Sesame database files from a network drive while not running client/server...I'm still waiting for approval and server space from our IT dept.  No problems from my workstation though...we do have IT monitoring his network connection-trying to find anything in the way of problems there.

Hello Charlie,

While waiting from approval for server space from the IT dept, why not run Sesame Server on your computer and have the other computer connect as a client to your computer?
