Direct from out current SANE meeting.

Problem:  How to remove top line of menu choices, to lock users out of everything?
Answer:  Use Kiosk mode! Smiley

But, when trying kiosk mode, got Windows error messages every time.

--------------------------
BUG?  Database opens normally using Sesame icon.  Does not open if run with -kiosk.

This command lines causes Windows Error message.  Opens OK in normal mode first without -kisok.
C:\Sesame2\Program\sesame.exe -kiosk "c:\sesame2\data\Copy of Filename.db"

Results in locked database which now needs to be unlocked

Windows message is:
"sesame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Bob and other SANE folk:

1. We'll look at the kiosk mode thing. It is likely due to a progress bar or something trying to display.

2. Kiosk mode is not a "shortcut" to getting rid of the Sesame interface. Unless you are actually in a kiosk environment, kiosk mode is not what you want. If the operating system is not also set up to be a kiosk, kiosk mode may cause any number of issues and conflicts.

Welcome to our meeting Erika   Smiley

Thanks for the feedback.  There is a general concnesus that we would like more info as needed to properly kisk mode.

Such as: set up OS for kiosk mode, etc.  We did not know that.

Back to the meeting.
