Some of my salesmen have gotten into the habit of putting a dot (period) into the customer code field when they do not know the customer code, because it is a required field.  Q&A quite happily lets them do this with a minimum of fuss, even though the field if formatted as a number.

Now I know I can use "/.." to retrieve all the records where the data in this field is formatted incorrectly, but that opens a whole 'nother can of worms, because it's not just dots in there.  What I want are the records with the dots and just the dots.

When I try to enter "." as a retrieve spec, Q&A balks.  Even though the program will allow a dot to be put there, it won't search for them.  I tried "....." (heh), to ask for "a dot anywhere in this field" but no joy there either.

Any suggestions?
