Scroll/Slider bar on multi-line text box?

I'm not sure what I'm looking for so I haven't had any luck with the manuals....  Is there a way to design a multi-line text box so that there's a scroll bar or slider handle on the side when the amount of text contained within is more than fits inside the box?

We're looking at that for 2.0.

Was this enhancement ever added?  If so, how do I do it?  TIA!

Use a Text Editor element instead of a multiline text box.

Thank you.  Is there a way to control the thickness of the slider bars?  Specifically the horizontal.  My element has a height of 40, and the horizontal bar is filling up half that.

Since there was no reply I assume the answer is no, but I want to bump the question in case it was overlooked.  Thanks!
