SANE (Sesame Associates of New England) is now meeting with QANERUG (Q&A New England Regional Users Group).

Sesame has now been released for almost one year, and we are starting to see real applications being made in Sesame.  Some from scratch, some converted from Q&A.

Some of the things we hope to discuss:
National Users Conference results
Samples of working applications
Problem solving with current version
Can menus be made to replace the "Tree"s on the left?
Version 1.1 (formerly known as 1.0.5) issues.

But this is not a fixed agenda.  We will handle any items that you want to cover.

Bring a Q&A file with you for translation.  Bring a Sesame file that you have already translated from Q&A.  Bring a Sesame application that you created from scratch.  Bring some Q&A files to be translated. 

Most of all, bring yourself, your sense of humor, and the desire to explore these databases and have fun at the same time.

If you know of any other users of Sesame/Q&A, copy this message for them and invite them to join us.  See you on Saturday!  Bring your friends and associates, fun for all.  Discuss Sesame, Q&A, general computer hardware, software, and related issues.

Thanks to Ray for feedback on the items listed from our November meeting.  We have users at many levels of experience, learning from one another.  Here us a quick summary of what our group learned or had reinforced this month:

1.  Read pages 245-247 of the Sesame Programming Guide and get to know all of the Reserved Words.

2.  Keep up to date with the latest version of Sesame.  Always be sure you are using the latest version for your application.  Current version as of 11/14/04 is 1.0.4

3.  Remember to reconcile your database after making any changes to the design.

4.  Databases translated from Q&A may have some invisible drawing characters that will prevent downsizing forms.  Do a right-click on the form to remove Q&A Drawing characters, even if you don't see any.

5.  From Lantica Marketing: "Sesame is being targeted to Non-Q&A users. We make sure the documentation does not contain references that only Q&A users would understand.  We run Google ads that are targeted at general database product users.  We issue press releases that are targeted towards Small Office or Home Office users not just old Q&A users".
