Subform repetition in Tree

Hi all

I'm still having fun experimenting with Sesame and raising further questions.
The set up is this

Database 1: Orders
Database 2: Clients

The database Clients has 1 form with 6 LE positioned vertically in a standard way. It has a second form with 6 LE positioned horizontally on top of the form.

The database Orders has 1 form with a subform (relationally linked) of the first Clients form.
Orders also have a form with a subform of the second Clients form. It finally has a third form with a subform of the first Clients form using Table instead of Form in the Subform Settings.
Everything works OK but In the Database Manager, in Add Data or Search Update Mode, I see 3 double instances of my Clients form and my Tree looks like that:

Orders
   Order_Form
   Order_Line
   Order_Line2
   Clients
     Client_Form
     Client_Form2
   Clients
     Client_Form
     Client_Form2
   Clients
     Client_Form
     Client_Form2

The 3 Client_Form are identical as well as the 3 Client_Form2.

Why do they have to repeat like that? One instance is necessary in order to interact directly with the Clients database, if necessary but 3 repetitions? Is it possible to remove the 2 extra reprtitions? Smiley

TIA

Serge

TIA

Hi jondolar
You might want to read the later postings on this subject at: http://www.lantica.com/Forum2/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=gen_disc;action=display...

The Subject is "Removing Duplicate Databases"

Hi Bob_Hansen

Thank you for pointing me to a good thread discussing that problem. I agree totally with Becky's thinking and conclusion. Mark wrote Quote:
But, because the initial tree can contain many items, we are adding the ability to remove (hide/reveal) items from the runtime command trees in the next major release. But that decision will be up to each designer, rather than the program itself.
. Is this possible in Sesame 1.0.4 or it will we have to wait much later for that feature? Roll Eyes

Not yet possible in 1.0.4

And I suspect the operative word may be major release.  It could lead one to think that means version 2.0.0 vs. 1.0.x which might be considered minor releases.

the format for the version number is:

    aa.bb.cc[.dddd]

where:

aa = Version Number - a change to this means that the base software has changed in a fundamental and important way.

bb = Major Release Number - a change to this means that there have been significant changes to the look & feel and operation of the software.

cc = Minor Release Number - a change to this means that small features have been added and problems addressed.

[dddd] = Hot Fix Release Number (optional - may not appear) - a change here means that a problem has been addressed that needed quick resolution for one or more specific customers.
