word wrap

Just stumbled onto another "challenge"

When I add a text field to a form & make it a multiline field, I would expect it to "wrap" the text in that field.

Unfortunatly in my design this is not happening - am I missing something ?

many thanks

Simply making a text box taller does not make it multiline. To make an element multiline, in the Property Editor, choose the Text Tab. Select Text from the Set dropdown. The Single/Multiline dropdown will become enabled. Choose Multi Line. Save your layout.

Thanks for that,

However I am adding the element via the properties editor as a text & multiline field & then expanding it to size.

Further to the above,

I've followed the instructions in your post & my text is still not wrapping.

I'm using v 1.0.3 of Sesame

Many thanks in advance

Make sure you have selected the element before changing the multiline setting. Otherwise, nothing will actually be affected.

Done that !

I've even set up a new form with only 1 field as a test

This is happening on 2 operating systems

1. Windoze XP Home
2. Windoze 2000

I can change other attributes without a problem ie colour, look etc.

Very puzzling

Thanks for your patience !

It's difficult to troubleshoot something like this blindly. Can you email me your application so I can try it here? Send it to support@lantica.com marked to my attention.

Does this mean the problem has been resolved?  Am curious about the cause and solution.

Hi yes the problem was solved (although there really was no problem to start with - d'oh)

I was testing a field in a database to see if it wrapped automatically & being lazy simply typed a continuous string of letters ie
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

which did not wrap

HOWEVER

If you type words (like normal people) then auto wrapping does occur .
