Hi Laurie,

I moved your question here, since the report sample you were asking about is from 2004 and built on a much older version of Sesame. Asking in this area should get you more current help.

EDIT: Hmm... I just tried the link, it seems to not be there anymore.

Hello Laurie,

What kind of report are you building, a Freeform or a table? Can you post a screenshot of the design so that I can see what you are working with?

its a table form as i said the reports didn't translate so i started from scratch.

here you go and i tried to print the report and set it to print in landscape and it kept printing in portrait.  then i turns out all of my records 175 i entered today are missing yet i did f10 after each one not sure what happened.

Hello Laurie,

Can you post a screenshot of the report design so that I can see what sections of the report the cells that display data are in?

Regarding the records you entered today not showing on the report, If you enter them in your DB file they will not show in preview mode of your DSR file. Check your DB file and you should find all the 175 records in there.

Hello Laurie,

Click on Group Header 1
Next to Group Management choose "Add New Group Before This One"
Click Perform Selected Action
Click OK
Drag the count element from the View Footer into the new Group Footer 1
Remove the width from that count element if one has been set
To align it to a specific column simply add spaces in front of it until it is under the column you wish to to be under.

thanks ray now do you know how i can duplicate a form so i can use it for 2 different databases?  on q & a i had my active customer database and then when customers cancelled i would transfer the info to a non active database i see with sesame you can copy info from one form to another within the same app but not from one app to another so i have my active customers under app munchbox with the form munchbox i want to create a form called nonactive so i can then copy the info when they go inactive then delete them from the active base?

the forms use the same info so i want to use the same design.

ok now how do i get the account numbers to align up under acct#  they are showing to the right of the info the count is aligned now but everything else is off.

Hello Laurie,

There are several ways to do this. I will cover one of them in the steps below

Open Sesame Designer
Open munchbox.db
When it says a file with the name already exists click No
In Filename after "data\" type "nonactive.dsr", without the quotes
Click Accept
Under the Application folder go into Application Property Manager and change the Application Title to nonactive
Click Save Changes
Expand Forms
Expand Design/Redesign
Expand munchbox
Click on the munchbox with the green dot
In the Property Editor go to the Other tab
Where it says Options For choose Layout
In name type nonactive and press the arrow button to the right to set it
Where it says Options For choose Database
In name type nonactive and press the arrow button to the right to set it
Under commands click Save Layout Design and then Close Design Tab
Under Application click Delete All Data Records
Click Yes
Under Application click Save as New Database
In Filename after "data\" type "nonactive.db", without the quotes

This will create you a nonactive database with the same form as your munchbox database that you can transfer your non active records into.

As for your alignment in the report I may know what is happening.
Go into the design of your report and click on the Static Text box for Acct #.
Go to the Look Tab of the Property Editor .
Under Label Alignment click on the number 09
In the design of the report click on the Value Box for Acct #
In Label Alignment clock on the number 09 again.
Save and preview the report. The acct # header and the data should now be aligned.
