Title: Check if files exist
Post by Amor on Sep 25th, 2007 at 10:09am
Hello!
We place the medical laboratory reports our customers (physicians...) to download into mailbox.
So data to mailbox computer skillfully as ASCII file (C_DFU.ASC; V_DFU.ASC;E_DFU..) and from there the Files in the listing at the Server2003 (F:\iLab) is queried and processed by the MailBox(Unix server) In distance of 10 minutes are queried and processed and removed at the end.

when these files are deleted from the Folder F:\iLab, then we know that the laboratory reports for the customer stand ready.

My question: How  can i transfer this task a Sesame application.
The operator does not need to go any longer to the server area and control it.
My conception is:  From The Sesame - application muss come a akoustik/optical signal or both.
How can i realize this  simply.
I would like to thank you for each suggestion or contribution.

Sesame can transfer ASCII files and can run a process on a timed interval. To help further, we need you to clarify exactly what needs to happen.

Hello!
I would like that each employee from the main menu application (our Sesame application) of SesameClient, which certainty gets that its ASCII file of mailbox is processed. So running to the server is void.

That is perfectly if this message into a control file is automatically stored:
e.g.. Entry the server DATE, server time and user ID.

Thank you  again Erika.

OK, I'm going to take this one bit at a time until I understand what you need.

Are you saying that you check your email and the messages include lab reports?

Hello Erika,

Each work-area  asked if his ASCII file is still in the Folder F:\iLab. That īs all.

Thanks.

So, all you want to do is check if there are any files in the F:\iLab directory? Or do you want to see if a particular file is there?
